Geo Takoma started working out daily at the age of ten, lifting weights by twelve, played high school football and then discovered gymnastic in college. Then came Vietnam.

Geo's intense dedication to yoga began in the military as a U.S. Marine Corps Sergeant. He served in Vietnam as an advisor to Vietnamese and Korean troops. In 1968, he fought during the Tet offensive. His experiences as a soldier in the Far East taught him the importance of blending the intellectual, the wondrous and the physical. His goal by the early '70s was to preserve youth and become a living example of true power.

Geo began practicing yoga in 1974, was certified by the renowned Indra Devi as a yoga instructor in 1975, and studied with several other yoga masters during the four trips to India, including Vishnudevananda, the Venerable Dharmawara, and Muktananda. Geo served as the Fitness Director at the world-famous Ashram Health Retreat in Calabasas, California. Geo has worked with many celebrities such as Cindy Crawford, Amber Vallata, Cheryl Tiegs, Stevie Nicks, Simon LeBon, James Coburn, Cindy Herald, and at the Ashram with Oprah Winfrey, Salma Hayek, Ashley and Wyonna Judd, Leigh Taylor-Young, and many other stars of movies, television and business.

Geo has authored The Complete Idiot's Guide to Power Yoga (sold over 40,000 copies). Geo has also produced Geo's Power Yoga Level 1 compact disc. Geo's Power Yoga Level 2 is soon to be released. He conducts workshops and teacher trainings nationally and internationally.
